Dr Geoff Meaden

Dr Geoff Meaden is a Principal Lecturer in the Department of Geographical and Life Sciences at Canterbury Christ Church University. Here he specialises in Biogeography and Geographical Information Systems (computerised mapping systems). He also directs a fisheries research unit, and is the chair of the North East Kent Coastal Scientific Advisory group. This group is concerned with maintaining and enhancing the marine and coastal systems in the local Thanet area. He is engaged on a number of local fisheries and ecological research projects, as well as carrying out wider marine/fisheries projects for the United Nations.

Talk

Dr Meaden will be taking part in a panel discussion, Conversations with the Sea, at 6pm on Wednesday 7 May. The talk will explore the ecology of the Thanet coast with Margate Rocks 08 commissioned artist Stephen Melton and local fisherman Dave Hancock . Click here for more information.
