Lisa Hall
Lisa Hall uses sound, projection, installation print and sculpture for investigations into the possibilities of everyday encounter, addressing the role of the senses and the mind in the interpretation and reactions to the world external to the body. When the hierarchical sense of sight is put to one side, it leaves information that has become forgotten, available and important, and this can alter the way the familiar is accessed.
Recent work includes a commissioned installation at Sevenoaks Library Gallery entitled 11 Seconds of Beethoven’s Sonata in C Minor. This work consisted of the first eleven seconds of the score translated into a Braille transcription and printed directly onto the walls using vinyl lettering, questioning the physical and visible presence of sound in space.
Lisa Hall is creating a new sound installation for Margate Rocks 08.
