Peoples in Pieces

Peoples in Pieces are an emerging performance company based in Bristol. They make work that falls between the disciplines of live art and experimental theatre, which questions and explores the range of possibilities between audience-performer relationships. The core of their process is a laboratory in which they experiment and welcome others to respond to their work.

15 Storms in a Teacup is an experimental piece cultivated from the kitchens of Peoples in Pieces. It is an attempt to conjure micro-weather systems in a teacup, jar or closest kitchen appliance. It is an intimate, hushed and shy performance, mixing alchemy with anticipation.

A volcano makes you shuffle in your seat
Cup sized storms crawl up your nose
Cloud in a jar is quite shy
5 0’clock and we bubble over
And we are in darkness

Through half closed eyelids enter our world of miniatures and kitchen sink science, where tornadoes are mastered, sandstorms and typhoons are born. Learn how to get through the worst and ultimately survive.
