Ecology is… ‘the comprehensive science of the relationship of the organism to the environment.
Ernst Haeckel, 1866

In this workshop we will use an earthly material to visually describe some of the hardiest organisms on the planet, those that would survive a disaster created by those considered the superior ones, man.

Using clay the participants will sculpt insects on tiles which will then be fired and displayed as a tribute to these beings and recognition of their ordered and civilized approach to survival. Those that live with in an ecosystem, consuming what they need but without detrimental effects on the rest of the planet.

Margate Rocks invites you to this teachers networking/CPD session on Sunday afternoon leading on to the end of the festival celebrations. Come along to this teacher exclusive session and work with the artist Ben Kidger to create clay tiles. Learn how to work with clay, network with other teachers from the area and get your creative juices flowing on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
