Booking recommended, email charlie@margaterocks.com to secure your place

Producer Lizzie Gillett (Drowned Out, McLibel, Crude) will discuss the practicalities of activist filmmaking and distribution, with a special emphasis on the uses of the web for filmmakers. She will also show clips from Crude, a docu-drama shot by Franny Armstrong about our individual responsibilities for global warming, several years in the making, and funded primarily by collaborators and supporters. If you want to know how to make accessible activist films that reach the general public; how to distribute them in a way you’re comfortable with; what opportunities the internet offers for getting the message out there yourself; and how you should you best use them, book now! The outcome of this workshop will be a real practical insight into getting the message of your film out online.

This workshop is followed by a special screening of Drowned Out followed by Q & A with producer Lizzie Gillett at the Carlton Cinema, Westgate-on-Sea. Click here to buy tickets or buy on the door.

This workshop is supported by Canterbury Christ Church University
